Hyrum Smith - “Character”
Character is the ability to carry out a worthy decision after the emotion of making that decision has past.
Do what you say you are going to do.
Two-thirds of the commitments that are made in corporate America either don't happen on time or they don't happen, ever.
Hyrum says that if you develop a reputation of doing what you say you are going to do, you can write your own ticket in the corporate world. Why? Because people can count on you.
In this short video it was a great reminder to me how valuable doing what you say you are going to do is. You cannot keep telling your child that you are going to take them to a movie and then not do it. You cannot keep telling a friend that you will meet them for lunch and then keep rescheduling. In business, it is important to keep appointments, make phone calls, and do the things that you say you are going to do. When you work from home on a full time basis is can be easy to become relaxed and put something off because you can, just make sure that it does not make you lose opportunities or make you look unreliable. This is a very simple thing to do that can make you stand out from others.
