Garrett Gunderson

I was recently at a conference in Monterey, California. One of the hot topics of discussion was the economy and the dire circumstances so many were facing. Recently, I viewed an internet video at I learning Global by Garrett Gunderson where he made some very important points regarding the current state of our economy that I'd like toshare.

Garrett made the point that during the Depression 1/3 of the population suffered through dire circumstances, 1/3 maintained their current lifestyle, and 1/3  of the population actually prospered and gained more wealth.

What was the difference in these circumstances? What made the same situation so different for so many? What if you could take control of your life and what your future will be?

Mr. Gunderson went on to suggest 5 keys to succeeding during difficult times:

1) Focus your thoughts on positive things. What are you focusing on? You need to think good, positive thoughts and protect them on a daily basis by excercise, feeding your mind, and feeding your soul.

2) Each of us has a personal Economy of Choice. What can you do to take a step in the right direction? What can you change today to make tommorrow better? Are you watching too much TV? What steps can you take right now, to improve your life?

3) You are your Greatest Asset!!!! What can you do to increase your own personal stock? How can you invest in yourself? How can you help be the best that you can be?

4) Kill the Sacred Cows!  In today's world, things are changing at such a rapid pace, that we need to let go of those things that hold us back, those ideas or actions that just are'nt working anymore. We need to search for new ways to learn and grow. Always looking for ways to be better and position ourselves for a better future.

5) Find your Soul Purpose in life. Each one of us is blessed with unique gifts. We need to learn how to find and utilize those gifts.

Garrett Gunderson gave some staggering statistics in this video.  A 
few of them are 4.3 trillion dollars were lost in retirement accounts 
since January 2007, and over 1 million lay offs have taken place since 
January of 2008!

He also pointed out some cold, hard facts about the great depression.

1/3 of the people did have great difficulty
1/3 of the people were able to maintain
However  1/3 of the people PROSPERED!!!  They actually gained more 
wealth!

He points out 5 keys to success to make yourself prosper like the 1/3 
of the people did during the Great Depression.

1) Focus of your thoughts - Don't focus on the negativity.  Instead of 
turning on the news when you get up in the morning, start your day by

2) Personal Economy of Choice -  Are your choices moving you towards 
progress?
3) You are your greatest asset - It is not your stock, 401K, real 
estate investments that determine who you are.  Now is the time to

4) Kill Sacred Cows - Increase your financial I.Q.  High risk does not 
mean high return!

I have chosen to turn off the negativity and turn the positive feelings
